The Head and the Heart – Rivers and Roads

No matter how many times I write about it, I am still learning to say no when I’ve reached my limit. I am forever adding to the to-do or the schedule, afraid I’m running out of time and guilty when I can’t do it all.

Maybe you, like me, can stand to hear again that saying no is an important part of adulthood, of being healthy and whole. It’s part of being committed to what matters to you. A post-it by my desk holds this truth right now, due to a growing list of people I’ve been putting off. I need to be honest with them, and with myself. It’s okay to let go and to prioritize, and it’s okay to say no.
