Apple Dip

by thefulltiltlife

In event management, one thing that is repeated often is the necessity for good food. If the food is good, they say, the event will be remembered as a success regardless of anything else. But if the food is less-than-best, even if the rest of the event was a wild success, it will be remembered only for its sub-par food.

My family has always known this, of course. We get that it’s mostly about the food. Lately, as more of my friends grow into kitchens of their own and we find ourselves cooking whole turkey dinners, I am inclined to share a few of our staples here. Here’s hoping you find them useful and simple additions to your own sleeve of tricks.

Skor Apple Dip

8-10 Granny Smith apples (medium size; 6-8 large size)
1 package cream cheese
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 package Skor toffee bits

Slice apples thinly (to maximize dipping opportunity!) into a bowl or platter, and toss with lemon juice to prevent browning.

Mix rest of the ingredients well with a spoon and serve.

That’s it, folks. A sure-to-please appetizer to ward off hungry hands in a no bake, no prep time fashion. You’re welcome.
