Fall Expectations

Ivan & Alyosha – Something Is Wrong

It is no surprise that I welcome fall with open arms, a cheetah-print housecoat and a coffee cake. To me, summer brings pressure to live large and exciting adventures with every ounce of free time. Outfits are high maintenance, as are playlists and dance moves, beaches and popsicles. In summer, a weekend of Netflix and cinnamon buns is met with disdain and the suggestion to “get outdoors” and “enjoy the sunshine”. But in fall, the biggest expectation is to visit an apple orchard or two, and pick up pumpkin donuts if at all humanly possible. Fall holds the kind of expectations I can handle, and even exceed.
